Situated magnificently on a cliff over looking the old town of Hannibal, MO - childhood home of Mark Twain - and the mighty Mississippi River, the lighthouse can be reached by an arduous climb and an adventurous spirit.

We walked over 200 steps to get to the top to see the lighthouse! The view was absolutely amazing at the top. It was a warm day I should have brought a water to drink. If you are unable to walk steps you can drive around the back of the lighthouse where there is a a couple of parking spots to park out to see the Mark Twain Lighthouse. If you keep walking to will end up at a bench to watch traffic and the water.

Not much there, just a hike up to a closed small lighthouse.

Be ready to climb the nearly 250 steps from the statue of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn up to the top, crossing two streets in the process. This isn't a small task for the faint-of-heart, especially on a hot day ( it was 90°F when we made our climb ). And don't think that you'll be able to get into the lighthouse once you get to the top, either, as this is more of a monument than anything else ( the signage to the right of the lighthouse indicates that this was too far from the water's edge to ever have been used as a "real" lighthouse ). It would be nice if some of the vegetation at the top was cut away to allow anyone who ascends to view Hannibal from the side opposite from Lover's Leap but that wasn't the case when we visited.

Don't listen to these other folks. I grew up in Hannibal. You can park at the foot of it and then go up about 30-40 steps to it. You can park on Main street to walk the full 244 steps or at the flat on Rock street. Address is on Rock street.
Yes go up the back way and you can use a wheel chair there
I am not sure. But due to covid? Everything at this moment has great restrictions. Sorry More or less? I believe you originally could. But as we even webt up through surrounding attractions? Things that we know are generally open to the public are all closed. Not that I wanted to say I just don't know. But mainly.. Everything is closed that used to be or group sizes.
5 to 6 sides I believe
It's open 24 hours but like any public place I would hesitate to be outside there walking around between the hours of 10 PM - 5 AM.
