No one answers the phone- literally called every day for a week through repeated disconnections and long holds (like, 20 minutes each time), yet they do not allow walk-ins. You cannot make an appointment because no one answers the phone. Essentially, there is no access to this government service- yet they are apparently running behind on processing paperwork. So what are they doing exactly, if they aren't answering phones or taking appointments? Update: They additionally have incorrectly processed information after assuring me that it was taken care of, and now there are serious repercussions. And again, I cannot get through to them to correct it. This is so unacceptable.

Horrible service! Could not answer any of my questions. Three different people and three different answers. Was told I can thank our president for my issue. To end my great experience I was hung up on.

Hopefully, things will get better soon.

Whenever I call up to the Social Security office I wait on the phone for hours. Then I finally get through only to be disconnected. The Social Security office needs a better system. Anything dealing with the government is a very slow process.

Photo i.d. and possibly a piece of mail with your name and address
It should be free. Mines was free but this was in another state so i assume all states offer free ss cards
Change to new last name?
No. I had to wait for an hour and a half on two occasions. Asked if I could schedule an appointment, was told no. Even though the sign in kiosk asked if I had an appointment.
If you don't remarry before age 60, you can get survivors benefits at age 60.
You can actually order it off line. It's free. Just go to the website. I did. Quick an simple
Talk to your parents and change your name.
You can always go there.
I would contact legal aid and ask them unless u have a lawyer
I'm still waiting for the card so please when you do I appreciate it God bless
If you can file online, it will save you time, gas, and the hassel of going in to the Building
No you don't, you can actually go online to request one. But if you are changing your name, you will need documentations... or you can go in yourself..
My husband & I live in Dallastown PA York County Thank you. Becky Latterman
If it is from the Social Security office u can call and have them send them out or there is a portal u can go into ur account on social security. Ssa.gov and u can create an account on there then u can just go to ur account for things. Hope that helps
The field offices are open, but by appointment only. Use your mySSA account or call first.
Have you made a my Social Security account? You can do a lot of things on line.

It takes them a while to get through the call queue, but you'll get there eventually. Took me 35 minutes of waiting.
Called them and they will send it in the mail

No. Show up before they open. Gets crowded fast.
Still a little early. But I had a replacement and it was sent to me in 5 days.
You can go into the SS fill out a Direct Deposit form or do it online. Very simple.
Either call social security or you should be able to find out on their website. Good luck babe! 👍😎
Go to ss buildibg and outside of the office they have forms there
If i get a job how much money can i make without loosin my social security?
Free
You can look that information on the SSA website.
Yes I think u will need something from the courts
If no changes was made to the estate, then the ex spouse should still be eligible
You can retire whenever you feel fit and hopefully you have managed your money and saved. If not your not ready to retire. Yahoo said more people are working into their 80s. Good luck.
You can get an original Social Security card or a replacement card if yours is lost or stolen. There is no charge for aSocial Security card. This service is free
Fill out the online form. Take two forms of identification to the office. Take a number and wait. Do not take any weapons. Also I would reccomend going 15 minutes before it opens. Be courteous and the process is faster. Good luck.
Social Security card replacement is free. Make sure no one tries to charge you. Further, make sure your have proof of identity for both of you as well as proof that your toddler survived birth, i.e. most recent shot record or other doctor visit. Otherwise, you'll get turned away after waiting over an hour.
This is not a question about Social Security.
It is free. Do NOT pay any services that claim it costs money. SSA replaced mine for free and said to never pay to have it replaced.
Yes I think you are...check with SSO
They are all listed on their website.
