It's very difficult and rare to actually contact anyone at the actual local salvage yard, because they're so busy. But I searched their website and the Wichita location has quite a few compatible alternators in vehicles in their yard right now, including a 95 and a 98 Lexus ES300. The website is a very good tool for finding exactly what you're looking for, if they have it.

Do you just need the motor? If so you can put your vehicle into the website and search for vehicles with similar parts

You can look it up in their online database to see if they have that or a compatible year vehicle. Aside from that, bring your tools and expect to get dirty cuz you have to pull the part yourself. Also, no guarantee it'll still be there but it's only $3 to go look

Yes, you can call the location directly, it's pretty hard locating the direct number but sometimes an agent at the 800# will give you the direct one.

That is somewhat correct. They must have clear ownership of the vehicle but then there is a further process they must wait for as they have to have the vin entered as a salvage vehicle so they can crush whats left. From there then it's processed i.e. fluids drained etc.
