I don’t think they really know of what domestic violence is. They assume that it has to be a black eye. That you had to have been admitted to a hospital. But no, it can be emotional abuse, psychological abuse, financial abuse from significant other. And many many more that doesn’t require you to have a black eye. I called to ask if I can get assistance on a possible vawa case and the lady asked me if I had filed a police report. I told her no and she quickly said sorry we can’t help you if you don’t have proof. These people definitely need some guidance on what domestic violence is. It doesn’t have to be physical. Totally felt helpless after that call.

Call the United Way help line. They should be able to give you places and numbers that can help you. Just dial 211.
We dont have funds for rent or utilities. Dial 211 that is United way resource line
Unfortunately we are unable to assist with copays. The United Way might be able to help direct you to who could by calling them at 2-1-1.
No unfortunately we do not. But Center of Hope is able to assist with rent and utilities if you are in need of assistance.
