My teeth came out perfect 😁 !! Just as Dr. Shelling predicted at my initial appointment. They look and feel great. And the office environment and staff are very friendly and caring.” “It's not an orthodontic office, it's a family.” I am forever grateful! God bless you Dr. Shelling, I now have a “Million dollar smile” 😍!!!

We shopped around a lot- Dr. Shelling was our 4th and last consultation after he was recommended by a friend. He was the only ortho who’s method of treatment did not include either an extraction or a palette expander. He was friendly, to the point, no over-selling, no presentations, no crowded office. Simple, to the point, and the most affordable. Almost a year into phase one for our 11 year old, we are so pleased with the results so far. It’s amazing how much better his teeth are without doing any of what the other prominent orthodontists in the area recommended. 10 stars, if we could.

The best orthodontist. The staff and doctor is very nice. The place is always clean. As soon as you arrive for your appointment, you are called in. Never a long wait time. I definitely recommend Shelling Orthodontist.

Yes. We accept most major insurance plans. Call for details.
We recommend scheduling an orthodontist appointment by the age of 7 to ensure your child’s teeth and jaw are developing properly. Early treatment can give us the chance to: 1. Guide jaw growth 2. Lower the risk of trauma to protruded front teeth 3. Correct poor oral habits 4. Improve appearance 5. Guide permanent teeth into their natural position 6. Improve the way lips meet when mouth is closed
Invisalign is a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that are worn and replaced roughly every two weeks. Each new aligner is designed to slowly move the teeth into their natural position.
We have special mouthguards to help keep their braces safe from damage.
Rinse your mouth with warm salt water and/or take Advil or Tylenol as directed. Pressure and mild discomfort are normal for a couple of days following adjustments.
Try tucking the wire in with the eraser part of a pencil. If that doesn’t work, dry it with a napkin and place wax over the tip of the wire to prevent further irritation.
Call us to make an appointment immediately. These problems could cause the teeth to shift in the wrong direction and should be taken care of quickly.
Call our office and schedule an appointment. If the bracket detaches from the wire, save it and bring it to your next appointment.
If the spacer falls out, that means it’s working. Call the office. If your next appointment is within a few days, we may instruct you to leave it out or schedule an appointment to replace it.
A spacer is a small rubber band that is placed to separate the back teeth. The space created is so the bands can be fitted on molars.
1. Bracket: The attachment bonded to the tooth or welded to the band 2. Archwire: A large removable wire that fits around the arch into the bracket slots 3. Elastic Ligature: A plastic ring that ties archwire into bracket or ligature wire 4. Ligature Wire: A tiny wire that ties archwire into bracket 5. Hooks: Used to attach rubber bands 6. Band: A ring of metal with the bracket attached that is glued to the tooth 7. Full-Archwire: Archwire that extends from molar to molar
There are a variety of factors that will account for the cost of your braces. We provide several options that are suited to treat all dental misalignments and will explain your options after a free consultation.
