This location was great until it wasn't... I no longer live in Colorado, but had my dog's comprehensive done here a couple of weeks ago when I was visiting home since it was the office she went to when she was a puppy. I understand the level of chaos these vets/vet techs experience every day because it is very apparent when you show up for your appointment. Since they are only doing drop off appointments still, you are not apart of your pet's exam and get a VERY short conversation with the Dr. (literally a couple of minutes) if you get to talk to them face to face at all. I don't quite understand why in-room exams are still not offered being that no other COVID protocol is followed... the majority of staff is no longer wearing masks, which is fine since the mandate is not in place, but if that is the case then we should be allowed in the room during exams again as well. My recent experience DID involve a rushed conversation with Dr. Fox -- she told me she discovered a fractured tooth that is infected with a receding gumline and needs to be removed pretty much immediately. Throughout the conversation, she kept referring to my female dog as HE/HIS/HIM, which made me question if she was even talking to the correct person... I was told that this infected tooth could cause infection in my dog's jawbone and spread to other teeth, so the sense of urgency that was being relayed to me was HIGH. She suggested removal within the next month. I was then given a quote of $700 for the extraction, but this number is subject to change. Since I am a young pet owner, this put me in high-stress mode, as I would have to scramble to get funds for this surgery if it was as URGENT as I was told. I got TWO second opinions -- one from a vet independent from banfield and another from a banfield location once I traveled back home. Both told me that the roots are strong, it is not causing any discomfort, and that dogs can live with these fractures for years before they become a real issue.... NO infection was obvious and her gumline was NOT receding. I would have plenty of time to save for the extraction with a specialist since it is a more complex removal (which Dr. Fox did not tell me) as long as I take care of my dog's dental hygiene at home and schedule a dental cleaning to remove the tartar from the tooth for now, which is included in my OWP. I feel extremely misled by Dr. Fox, whether that was the intention or not. This was my final straw... I no longer trust the level of care Banfield provides and I plan on breaking away as soon as my OWP expires. This has nothing to do with the niceness of the staff -- they are all wonderful in my experience, but niceness does not equate to competence when it involves my animal receiving proper care and me receiving accurate information about my dog's wellbeing.

Everyone here was fantastic and very informative. They were able to answer all my questions without hesitation and joining an OWP is quick, easy and simple. Highly recommend joining the Banfield community as they would do anything to support you and their fury friends :)

No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including: • Vaccinations • Dental Care • Parasite Control • Nutritional Counseling • Behavioral Counseling • Comprehensive Examinations
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
