This is my local go-to place for variety of trail systems & ever changing sites in nature. Keep your eyes open.

Wonderful walking trail around the lake. Fall colors on full display. Definitely worth the entry fee

$5/car/day: Oakland County Resident Rate $12/car/day: Regular Rate $4/car/day: Seniors 62+/Adaptive/Military/Veterans $15/vehicle after noon: Special Fireworks Fee
Can only ride on paved trail - not dirt trails. Paved trail is very short and easy. Not worth your time. Bikers can not enjoy the whole park. They must not want bikers to visit. Said bikers on dirt path is not safe for pedestrians. But pedestrians are allowed on paved trails with bikes. No logic to those rules.
Okay because last Saturday we were lined up in cars on sashabaw till way after 8 am. The gate wasn’t open till closer to 9
I believe 65
There is access to the lake but you can't swim.
We have one planned for July 29th so I hope so. Or they need to let us know because our reunion is already planned.
Yes, but there are rules. Visit oakgov.com/parks to see rules.
Just like John said and you should be Good to Go. Enjoy the Camping trip.
I bring my drinks , but I don't think it's allowed 😆😆😉...
Call, but it is probably ok. Depends on where you plan to park it.
After a long and extensive search, on the Oakland county web page, yes you can bring and consume alcohol in Oakland county parks, as long as you're over 21.
They do not offer ski rental. You have to bring your own
No... Walking, jogging, and riding bikes only.
Depends on what you mean by near by camping, Groveland Oaks on Dixiy Hwy, and within 30 minutes from 4 state parks with camping
Rain doesnt stop some people lol. I walk trails in pouring rain. I live life no matter what the circumstance is.
On "bring Fido site" Fido can join you as you explore Independence Oaks County Park, the largest Oakland County Park. Independence Oaks boasts 1,286 acres of recreation amenities, including twelve miles of natural and paved trails. Dogs must be leashed during their time at Independence Oaks County Park. Leashes cannot be longer than six feet, and dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and cleaned up after." Just doesn't say details about allowed to swim & where if so...
Tammy, this is Dave Frye. We live a couple miles from Independence Oaks. It has a separate swimming lake and beach and is very nice. It's a terrific park!
Yes. There is a Beach with a Lifeguard that is separate from Crooked Lake. There is no swimming allowed on Crooked Lake.
They have pedal boats...on their website, the price is $5 for a half hour. Same price for kayaks and row boats.
No. Independence Oaks is a County Park in Oakland County. An Annual Oakland County Park Pass for Non-Residents of Oakland County is $48.
There is no open camping. Groveland oaks dies and it is a great place to go. About 45 minutes away from there
they do not I believe. the lake is however no motors allowed.
With the holidays, your best bet would be to call the park and ask them directly.
As long as you stay in the park area. I have seen other similar things up there.
I can say they are 'closed' but that doesnt stop people from taking a dip now and then
The Michigan recreation passport bought through Secretary of State? NO. This is an Oakland County Park and you need an Oakland County Park Permit or they also have Oakland County Parks and Huron Clinton MetroParks combo passes you can purchase. However the one on your license plate is only for Michigan State parks. It is a great park though and worth the price.
