I lived there for 10 years. I always had a nice apartment and I did a lot of upgrades myself. The owners were brothers and one of them passed away. The brother that took over started having difficulty paying the bank note so he collected rent for almost 2 years and never made any repairs or a mortgage payment. Then one day he gave the place back to the bank. He walked away with probably a million dollars. It went up for Sheriffs auction and the new owner was determined to be a slum lord. The first thing he did was rip out the boiler in the building that I lived in. Then they would turn the water off at night and on the weekends. It was a nightmare. He thought he was going to fill the place up and collect rent for doing nothing. The city officials, including the mayor knew full well what was going on there. They red tagged 3 of the buildings. No way could they ever be brought up to code. The place was built in 1918 - 1923 for Ford executives. It's a sad story. Stay away from that place. They aren't safe and the owner WILL enter your apartment whenever he feels like it. Do a Google search. You will find all kinds of pictures of the outside of the buildings on Porter, but no inside pictures. There aren't any pictures of the buildings on Monroe. The former property manager lived nearby and he said it is a sad sight.

Just like, I would go up to the one vacant building and buzz buzzer and ask them. Because they're listed nowhere and only one of rebuildings is actually rentable.
