My father has been at Oakleigh of Macomb for over 2 years. Long time staff like Bobby, Jen, Rosanna, and (new) Judy (at the front desk) welcome you. Nick and Mary provide access to social interaction and exercise and are so very kind to the residents. You can feel the residents confidence in being cared for when they enter the room. Ty handles maintenance. Broken equipment is repaired or replaced in a timely manor. There are many dedicated caregivers - we miss Samantha (who was moved to the upstairs floor) . Kelly and Bash have been wonderful to my father. The nurses (Shannon, Ursula) and Destiny are responsive. The new manager, Elani, is training new staff and providing leadership through example. She is caring and dedicated. It takes a lot of coordination, but she's doing a great job. Any facility you visit promises you "everything", but the reality is staff shortages. (I know this because under the previous management, I was very unhappy with care and seriously investigated moving my father to a different facility). Care has improved significantly under her leadership. I feel confident that my father will be able to spend the rest of his life in his apartment with the assistance of the caring staff at Oakleigh of Macomb. I cannot express how thankful I am to Elani for what she has managed to accomplish at Oakleigh in the few months she has been there.

Very friendly and professional staff, clean environment, good food. Kudos to the management especially the DON Ursila, nurses and caregiver that provides very good quality of care. Highly recommended.
