The main entrance is located across the street from the larger, eye catching Union Station Building. It is under a blue awning on 225 Canal Street. The station is functional and a great way to get around Chicagoland and the country. You can get to all Amtrak trains and lounges/gates and Metra trains from this entrance. There are many other entrances across the city.

The station is filthy, there are beggars everywhere asking for $, customer service was terrible! Lady at 1st waiting room wouldn't let us sit there because just 4 elderly and people with kids. Politely pointed out have been here numerous times and just 5 days ago. They let everyone sit in waiting area and let elderly & people with children board 1st but at least we could hear announcements. She rudely told me " no they didnt?!! YES..the have. Every time. People were furious and made to sit on concrete floors along train station hall ways. The employees name is Janet. Very disgusted and horrible ending to vacation.

This station was quite well run. The location was magnificent and incredibly grand. It was clean all over - both clear of trash and cleaned up. The staff was super helpful getting my elderly, disabled grandmother to the train with ease. The riding cart was particularly helpful for her. The restrooms were clearly marked and getting to our gate was simple.

Yes! You can
From O'Hare, you can take the Blue line train. If you're traveling alone and with minimal luggage, take the train to Clinton, and walk north approximately two blocks to the station. If you have luggage and/or small kids, you might want to get off at Clark and Lake, where there's an elevator, and take a cab the last bit.
Also near tracks 12 there should be a desk worker
Yes, but they can get pretty expensive. If you're boarding a train later in the day, it's better to check your bags early.
Theyre overpriced, of course, but I saw a couple little stores with convenience-type items, cold sandwiches, snackage, coffee, etc. There are quite a few restaurants close by though. I went to boni vino which was a walk but delicious, and there are quite a few asian restaurants with sushi and stuff less than a 5 min walk away
