Friendly and easy way to explore the river in that area ! You will see birds and turtles (and a bit of trash). No need for reservations, just go. Family friendly.

We don't allow our boats downtown or on the lake. It's a different safety environment.
Laura, I would add that we have some guidelines for bringing a dog. One is that you've paddled a canoe before - we don't want you bringing the dog out your first time. We also ask that you try avoid peak hours, when other customers may make the dog nervous, and vice versa. And that you approach it with the idea the dog may not want to go (or to stay in the boat.) If you can't paddle, or have to return after a couple minutes because it's not working, we won't charge you.
16 and 17 year olds can paddle on their own if they bring a signed parental waiver, with a phone number so we can call to verify. With an adult present on the water, many kids from about age 10 and up are capable of paddling their own kayak, but it may be best to have a parent/child trip in a tandem kayak first.
It's $20/hour, with a one-hour minimum. After that, it's $5 for every 15 minutes, so you don't have to pay for a second hour just because you go out a little more than an hour.
