I do not leave bad reviews but this was on another level. I would not even give it 1 star if I could. Terrible. It all started with the host and everything just went downhill from there. I made a reservation for 7 adults to celebrate my birthday. When we arrived at Saranello's, we went to the host to be escorted to our table. He told me that part of my party was already seated at the table and left us standing there. Am I mistaken or is restaurant host is responsible for welcoming customers to a food service environment and ensuring that they are seated and receive attentive service? Not in this place. I stood there invisible for several minutes and then went on to find our table by ourselves. Like I said it was 7 of us, we were seated at the round table large enough for 4 people, on top of that every time I needed to get out I kept bumping a chair of people sitting next to us. Today I looked at my receipt to find out Saranello's charges 3% COVID-19 surcharge. For what, seating people on top of each other? Our waiter looked and acted like he did not want to be there. Food did not look appealing and tasted the same. They served stale bread, biscuits and doughnuts, and the omelet station provided us with burnt omelets, a cucumber salad drowned in a white mystery liquid, grey looking cauliflower and caprese salads and plenty of empty stations (they did not even bother to replenish available selection). On top of all my husband ended up with an upset stomach and spent the rest of the afternoon in a bathroom. It was an awful birthday experience.
