My family and I had a GREAT time visiting the stables. My 4 year old daughter rode with me on a horse named Austin. This was my first time riding since I was a child. Our horse and guide were AMAZING. I was really nervous at first because I had never been a horse of this magnitude, but once we started on the trail I realized how gentle and great he was for me and my daughter and was immediately put at ease. The trail is a mountain trail, so alot of going up and down and on rocks. If you're looking for a meadow type ride, this is not it! But I highly encourage you to try it. It was very beautiful and scenic and well shaded. The petting zoo was great too and they even had a little play ground that my daughter enjoyed as well. I was definitely sore the next day, but I will be doing this EVERY time I visit this area.

Got to go on a private ride with Maximilian - my horses name was Jersey. Maximilian was a great tour guide and Jersey was a gentle giant. The views were spectacular and the fall colors were amazing. Highly recommend.

First of all if I could give a negative review I would. To start things off my mother called the day before asking if there were horses for a heavier set person and the lady said there was no problem and to come on out to the stables. So the next day we went to the stables when we walked in the the front office the lady said their horses could only support 170lbs. Although according to their flyer says big guys ok and the lady said there were bigger houses available. The lady had even told us to go to another ranch because they had bigger horses for us. Then my mother and grandmother went to the bathroom only to find the bathrooms weren’t properly working and were told to put the used toilet paper in the trash cans due to septic problems. That is very unsanitary and disgusting. Overall their flyers are misleading, the place is overpriced and very unsanitary bathrooms. STAY AWAY. FIND ANOTHER RANCH!!!!

My hubs is 275lb. They have bigger horses that accommodate.
No
Beautiful views. We were pleasantly surprised! Maybe season has something to do with views... bare trees in winter, fully leaves trees in summer? We were there in spring, April. Very pretty and relaxing ride.
Yes you will always have a guide and it is about 1 hour up then down the mountain.
It's best to go at 9 in the morning you get right on a horse that way
You have to pay a fee for them to ride with you but they don't have to have an actual ticket
Yes there are some large groups but the last time we road its was just our family group with the guide it is well worth the ride we did this ride 14 years ago enjoyed it then and did it in March with our kids they loved it the guide was real good and funny what ever you do don't go to jayell ranch horses do not listen our group had a young kids get drug through a tree horses are muddy guide had horses going all over the place we got our money back its was nasty riding
Yes
There actually wasn't a weight limit at this particular place. First time horseback riding and it was absolutely amazing
I'd say there isn't really enough parking room for an RV
No I don't believe they do
They only have a limited number, so definitely call for a reservation.
Just show up but last ride is at 4pm
I'm sure, but bear in mind, it's catch and release
If I recall correctly that's a no. If it's too cold I believe they give the horses time off from trail rides. I recommend giving them a call though they are really friendly and informative.
No, it's a lot of walking up and down areas on the trail.
Ask for Rhode island. He is a very sweet big boy. Be sure to go early in the morning when the horses are fresh and rested.
37.90+10 tip for horse riding
Give them a call
Well u see it how u want but I liked the ride but I'd like to have mountain views as well everyone likes different views as well
On the website there is a cheaper price for toddlers if they ride with an adult.
19.95 for adults. I think pass is for few days
Just make sure she asks them to shorten the stirrups for her and she'll do just fine.
Yes, you can just do the mining and feed the petting animals.
If you are a small frame person, you can double with kid.
Very reasonable. We did the package which included a one hour trail ride, gem mining and food for the pet animals for $38 per person. They do have other packages, but this one made the most sense cost wise.
I'm not sure. I would give them a call before you go.
Yes we are open all year depending on the weather we don't ride in extreme rain or thunderstorms moderate rain we're open snow or shine
With an adult. Probably even if they are an experienced rider.
$27 for a one hour ride, but they also have specials: https://horseridingbigrock.com/Rates.php
Yes, as long as an adult rides along on the same horse.
No but I would suggest it
The website says if you are over 250 you need to call before arriving. They had a lot of draft mix horses which can handle bigger people.
With a parent/adult rider.
You have to call them. Sorry, but this is only a comment website.
Yes and 26.95, I believe, was just for a one hour ride and nothing else. It's better to do the 29.95 package for the petting zoo and bag of corn, water bottle, etc...esp, if you have children.
Draft, draft crosses. Lots of Belgians and Percherons. I don't remember the riding price as they managed to talk us into some extra stuff and even a cowboy hat! I looked so good in that hat, lol.
Yes don’t eat any of the bark on the trees and you should be alright.
My 5 year old went on her own horse. Our guide had her horse on a rope lead which he held on to the entire time. The horses there really know the path. I was completely comfortable the entire time!
I think for our family of 4 it was $140. You could add on different packages like fishing, feeding animals, etc. We went with basic package.
Absolutely loved this place i believe we bought the thirty something package and rode the horses for a hour than did the mining and checked out the petting zoo, the peacocks were beautiful and being that I'm disabled I like that they have a loading and unloading dock to get on and off the horses. And the people we're all awesome we definitely will return to ride the horses again. Also I like that they donate a portion of the fee to the Arbor tree foundation, so that the trees are planted to make up for all the trees lost in fires and construction around the world. I give this ranch 5 stars.
