This is a very nice Farmers Market every year. Lots of garden plants, herbs, and flowers as well. Every Wednesday from 7am to 1pm. There's a newly paved parking area now. Fruits and veggies are now here....

PARKING PRO:Beautiful... recently paved... generously sized parking lot. Lots of signage. CON: One entrance. If you miss it you get into the Library and City Service Lot and it does NOT connect to the Farmer's Market. You'll need to circle out and re-do your entrance approach. So stay alert for the entrance which is also the exit so there's usually cars there waiting for traffic to clear to move out to Maple. PORTA-JOHN PRO: It's there and so is a delightful hand washing station. No cons here. PRODUCE: PRO: Lots of variety. One very large vendor and one smaller one. Enough to make most folks happy and fill their needs. CON: Seasonal items so not everything all the time and sometimes they do run out of stuff. TIMING PRO: Great for early risers...7am....and right smack in the middle of the week. That's pretty perfect for me. CON: Closes too early in my opinion....1pm...and some folks would probably prefer it open on the weekend. (Go to Farmington.) OTHER VENDORS PRO: Maybe around 7 other...give or take...specialty item vendors....jewelry, salsa, breads, eggs, honey, etc. and free bug spray and pleasant conversation at the little house in the middle. CON: Could use more vendors and you can't count on the same ones every week. It's not a craft show. No music either. ATTITUDE PRO: Everyone seems happy to be there and the vendors are chatty and polite and delighted to engage while they fill your multiple plastic bags and they don't over crowd things so items get crushed. They are great at bagging things up for you so you can loop lots of bags down your two arms. In fact I'd say they are professionals at it. CON: None at all except for the time I dropped a cucumber on a lady's leg and she gave me a look. So be careful. Use a plastic carrier with metal handles provided there sitting on the ground for you to temporarily fill up or better still bring a wagon. I saw several of those. Best idea ever. FAVORITE FOOD THERE Without a doubt it's the cantaloupe for me. Tastes like candy. It's so soft and ripe and ready to eat. It takes a bit of waiting for them to come around but it's sure worth the wait.

All the vendors that I have stopped at are cash only, but some of the others may accept credit cards.
