I faithfully stay in the Hilton family of hotels. I've always enjoyed the various sub-brands of Hilton, but TRU is not for me. The rooms are small and simply don't flow. This morning alone I've hit my knee on the bed frame while trying to walk around the rooM and hit my bed on the refillable soap container in the shower. The hotel was obviously built on a CAD system, and not as part of visitor input. However, the small & trendy amenities in the lobby are a nice flare. Again, not my style because I tend to stay in my room, rather than open spaces.

We stay here all the time. Never have any issues. But today it seemed like front desk Miranda came in with an ugly attitude. Don’t know if she had issues at home prior to coming in or what. But she came into the pool area after us being in there for about 10 minutes. She goes in at 9:55pm stating the pool closes at 10 and no food or drinks are allowed. But very rudely said. Which the sign is very small I’m sure many people miss it. Then we go sit in patio request for burner to be turned on made 20 excuses before doing so. We let her know her attitude is very ugly and we will be talking to her manager. In customer service you remind the customer of the rules and nicely request to remove items or trash them. We do stay here often but first time in pool area. Pretty irritating how bad peoples customer service skills are. Again we never have issues with any front desk always super kind. MIRANDA IS HORRIBLE!!!!

Rooms were nice enough, ac worked in the Texas summer, so that's always a plus. Had two rooms and the refrigerator was broken in one, and made a knocking noise in the other. Staff was amazing, if we stay again it will be because of them. Lounge area is nice and comfortable. Breakfast was as expected and not bad. A couple downsides, the fitness room is a little lacking but workable, the pool on the other hand... We came down with kids that wanted to swim and having an open pool was a factor in choosing this hotel. The pool was not... great... To say the least. It was waaaaay too chlorinated and actually burned your eyes from just being in the room. My youngest opened her eyes under the water a few times the first night and less than a hour later it looked like she had a hellish case of pinkeye. Ran to HEB and grabbed her eye drops and it cleared it up after an hour or so, but she was none too happy about the burning.

Ok. I am reviewing this as a business traveler. The room was too small to open my suitcase unless I balanced it on the mini fridge. There was no closet so I couldn't hang my blazers. The desk was nice but small so I couldn't have all my stuff on it. The mini fridge was nice. The room was clean. No extra blanket I could see in the room. The lobby was nice and everything seemed clean. No coffee pot or hot water in the room but there was if you wanted to travel to the lobby. It was near a few restaurants but the nearest convenience store is a hike .. and it seemed like not the best area as a lot around it is run down and boarded up. The breakfast bar seemed nice.
