While I don't represent any gun store, this isn't a question that can be answered online. You should go into a store and if there is a knowledgable clerk there, they should be able to help you decide as a family what the best fit is. Places that allow you to rent firearms to use at their ranges are great choices for first-timers and don't be afraid to shop around because some places will not be helpful.

They rent pistols, it isn’t expensive. I do believe some ammo is included in the price. You aren’t “renting” rather buying the ammo though, but they do rent pistols and small arms. Call about prices

You have a choice of up to 3 guns you can rent for your range time. Quite a few to choose from. Very good if your trying to decide on a specific model or frame size.

Certainly not any new firearm. They may have the firearm you're interested in the rental counter to select if you wish to try it out.

I'm not sure if they do plating in house, but they would definitely be the best place to ask!
