We had such an amazing time camping with the family here! The kids got to fish, swim, and hike. While we were swimming my oldest daughter took it upon her self to pick up trash on the beach,it wasnt a trashed beach just some trash here and there, but being a girl scout we always leave a place better than we found it. Loved walking the trail, it had beautiful views and got to identify different plants and wild life. We saw lots of deer. We will definitely be back. The staff is very nice and friendly!

Our campsite had plenty of shade and a great view of the lake. Access to the water was very difficult though. Fishing from this site meant navigating the large and some loose rocks. We will try a different site next time. The park is clean and the staff was great.

Beautiful park, love that they have full hook up 50 Amp sites. The little beach is perfect for the kids. Can fish all along the bank without having a license. $5 per person fee or get a pass. Will visit again.

Beautiful lake! Already planning another visit to bring the kids with us! Did some cliff jumping, swimming and shore side fishing. I caught four fish one after another with zero bait! Our campsite was right on the shore and we had access to a nice cove to park our boat overnight. Can't wait to come back!

Yes bring currant shot records-keep leashed-and not allowed in any park buildings, shelters, bathrooms etc...
I guess it would depend on the cars. I would give them a call. It may be that only one car is included in your entrance fee and that you would have to pay another fee for an additional car.
Great facilities with hot showers and the park staff takes excellent care of them daily.
Yes there are. Use the reservation site. You'll get all the info you need.
Screened shelters. Check for availability. https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/lake-whitney/fees-facilities/screened-shelters
Our daughter absolutely loves it. But yes fishing hunting hiking. You can also bring a scooter or bike. They have good roads for that.
Check out the TX. State Park website for all the state park s info.
The question requires context. If it's day use, no limit because each person pays a fee. For a campsite, 8 is usually the limit. However, you can reserve multiple campsites if friends want to join. So. It depends.
No! The state police will get you and fine you
Yes they are open.
Yes
I'm not sure. Haven't never thought about asking them. Would have to at least pay a day use fee.
Yes
Yes..any kind of dog isl allowed... they have to be on a leash any time its out of a RV or tent.... ultimately your responsible for your dogs actions...like anywhere else.
No
They have someone in the office during the day
You will need to make a reservation. Weekdays are easier than weekends. Look up the map of the park on TPW and pick a site you might like. Our favorite was 102 or 103. I suggest purchasing a Park Pass before going, if you think you might go camping more than a couple of times. Our pass has already paid for itself!
I'm an AT&T customer and there are dead spots around Whitney and Blum.
There is a gate code The gate code is only given to customers who hold a valid camping permit. It is never given over the phone and will not be given to holders of a self-pay station receipt..
There are no cliffs in the state park area. Most visited cliff is on the west side, walling bend area. I have been jumping there for years
About a mile
Shore fishing only unless you have a boat...which I would recommend.
$5 per person for daily entry fee. Overnight fees extra if camping
I can't really say because I always make it my buzz to come during the open hours. An that way u can get a spot u want ..sorry
Has it all. Rock, sand, mud, stumps. Great smallmouth bass lake.
Check at the whitney state park web site, I'm sure there is.
The RV sites do have like electricity but there is primitive camping that does not.
No exclusive pool...but there are spots with lake access
We were allowed to have a fire, however you aren't supposed to gather any branches or wood from the ground. Firewood is available for purchase at the ranger station.
Pretty sure they don't let you drive off the road or in the grass.
They have camping, RVing or screened shelters. But they are closed till at least December 5th due to flooding.
You'll need to call
it depends on what kind of site you get a campsite with water is around $12 15 and a sight with water and Electric like $20 a night and then they have screened in shelters with water and electric I think they're around 25 they're really cool and then they have Water and Electric and sewage if you have a motorhome that you need to be running sewage it runs about the same as a shelter spot 93 and 92 have Water and Electric there on the point on the swimming area 93 has the most shade it's Prime Property
Can not display alcohol in public. It must be consumed in private, inside a tent, camper, etc.
Yes we had a charcoal grill that we took the park provids a fire ring with a small rack but as of 7/12/18 they are under a fire ban and you can not have open wood fires only charcoal or gas are allowed
Yup.. no good during the heat of the day. Hit the shallows in the morning and the evening.
I was there at the first of May and the swimming area was open
It is best to call first. The park is booked Friday through Sunday every week through September or October.
There is 1 group cabin. There are screen shelters
Not all, but the vast majority are open.
No, this is a State Park and permanent or long term stays are not permitted.
They weren't bad in the fall but if you just put comet cleanser all around they stay away
If you're in the campground any time. Otherwise I think the gate needs to be open.
To my knowledge no they do not allow gocarts or atvs, most state parks will not allow them
