Excellent service! Put in the extra effort to get my tpms system working when no one else would. I highly recommend Daily’s!

The service is generally good and they are friendly enough. The problem is with their fees. Their fee structure seems to be set up in such a way that they can explode their labor costs. I just had a vehicle go in the shop for an ignition coil/spark plug replacement. They charged $140 for the parts (which is nothing to scream about, but it is definitely on the higher end), they charged $150 labor (I can live with that), but then they charged another $150 for running codes. In my opinion, this is fleecing. If you replace a faulty part that is throwing a code, then clearing the code and checking if any others pop up is part of the troubleshooting process and should be included in labor fees for the job. It's all one job because you run codes to see if you fixed the problem. To spin that out as a separate labor expense and double the cost of labor for me is not acceptable. Every time I go into this shop, they end up telling me I need hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of work done. I won't be back. There is at least one better alternative in Middletown. Edit following response: Apparently, I am misremembering the exact figures, and I cannot find the receipt. The fees were from memory, and I remember seeing 150 beside both the labor and the code running. Doing simple math, you clearly multiplied the hourly rates by the same figure, 105, to arrive at those prices. While my memory was not correct, that does nothing to detract from the essence of my complaint. You nearly doubled the labor cost for me by spinning something out as a separate expense when what you did was simply part of the business transaction for this job. You weren't tasked with troubleshooting from scratch. You didn't have to scan for codes to find the problem. You knew the problem going in. You fixed the problem. If you had to scan for codes, it was solely to make sure you fixed the problem. To charge me an additional expense for that is exactly what I'm on about. You're saying that I should have to pay 2/3 of the cost I'm paying you to fix the problem as a separate cost for you making sure you fixed the problem? And you think that's reasonable? You're also saying that you just happened to spend the exact same amount of time scanning for codes that you spent changing the parts. That seems unlikely. More likely, you just charged me a .9 multiple for the total length of time you spent doing the job AND THEN a .6 multiple for the total length of time you spent doing the job which you then called "diagnostic." That's why I'm not coming back. Also this is to say nothing about the fact that the amount you charged me for the part was nearly 2 times the amount I could order the part for online. You charged about $154 for parts that could have cost me around $77 to purchase myself.
