What a terrible experience, I have been waiting for my glasses now for over three weeks and nobody at VW in Nassau Park has any answers to how much longer? Apparently the "manager" for this location is never in and the reps working the store have no access to how they can look into where the status of my glasses are??? It is such a shame, by the look of their reviews I'm not alone in this mess. I went to their site as informed by recording when calling store, which is useless and was told by the chat bot that someone will reach out to me within FORTY-EIGHT HOURS!!! I cannot believe the quality of the service for being a necessary medical device for some people. Feel bad for the reps at store, not really their fault.

Quick summary: Overall, if your expectation is a store where you can also get your eyes checked, I think it will meet those expectations just fine. Decent selection and nice staff, with a decent turn-around time for your prescription lenses/contacts. The back of the store could just use a little refresh and you should expect to potentially wait for quite a while past your scheduled eye appointment time. --- Longer review, since I always like being able to read reviews and know exactly what to expect: A pretty awkward experience, which sounds sort of funny for an optometry review. For reference, prior to moving to this area, I had annual eye appointments at a dedicated optometry office, not a store chain like Visionworks, so please keep this in mind. (This is where PU referred us to use our vision insurance.) For the appointment, you walk to the back of the store, and there is a tiny waiting area with a bunch of very shabby looking chairs and advertisements. There were a lot of people waiting when we went, and I think my partner and I waited around forty minutes for our appointments. We had to stand part of the time due to lack of available seating, which wasn't a problem for us, but perhaps good to know if you have mobility issues. (Though staff might be able to get you a different chair, if you asked.) When we were called for our appointments, it felt awkward to me. They have an open area with a sink and mirrors right next to the waiting area where you are expected to wash hands and try on contacts in front of everyone (which is not an invasion of privacy, but just feels weird when it's crowded), and the testing rooms and the room where you sit in the large chair and try different lenses are both right near the sitting area as well, and the door is often left open. Those rooms were fairly shabby as well (although everything definitely appeared hygienic). Adding to the surreal feeling though, is that they are right next door to an exercise boot camp, so the whole time that you are getting what feels like a public eye exam, you are also listening to whistle-blowing and yelling coaches and running lol. (This is not at all Visionworks's fault, but I found it highly humorous and worth mentioning!) After the appointment, they hit you with sales pitches. Not the best selection of trendy younger styles (for my preferences), but they definitely have an array of options that are well-organized. I think people that are interested in more traditional styles will definitely find something easily. The sales representative who helped me was very nice, though he had to leave part-way through helping me, and then the next representative got a little confused, but it all worked itself out in the end. Visionworks sends you email notifications when your glasses/contacts are ready for pick up, which is super convenient. They didn't have any trial pairs of contacts in my proper prescription, so at the time of the first appointment, they had me try on the closest thing they had and gave me the trials of that and we ordered my prescription. It was a bit frustrating when I went to pick them up though, because I went to pick them up at the front and was then just told to "wait in the back." We had intended to quickly pick up the contacts and so were not anticipating we'd then end up having to wait thirty minutes and then have to have a check-in on the fit with an optometrist before being able to check out and then leave, which I guess was because they were a different prescription than the trials I put on the first time. I understand if they have to stick to procedures, but some more communication in advance would have been appreciated. The female optometrist I had for the trial fitting was super super friendly and professional, though - she was great. Staff are also always willing to quickly do a fit adjustment on glasses you have purchased from there, which is nice.

We have been coming here for years, but unfortunately it will be tough to come here any longer. You CAN NEVER GET THROUGH TO ANYONE. I waited a half hour for status on a delayed order , and then when someone finally did get on the line they couldn't get through to the store so I had no information. I am STILL WAITING for a call back for information, meanwhile my daughter is now out of contacts with no clue when more are coming in. Just tried again, waited 20 minutes, and the customer service person again couldnt get through to the store or give any info. Really, really poor service. The only way to get answers is to take time out of your day and wait to talk to someone in person. It's too bad, as it wasn't this bad before.

I went last week and the only doctor there was Dr. Madalyn cowles. Plus if you call and say talk to a representative, it passes you on site and the called is answered. I've called multiple times and it was always answered, didn't have the experience you had but maybe try again?
Hi Howard! Yes, our Princeton location is open 7/5 from 9AM-7PM.
