Absolutely amazing! The accommodations, service and food are all second to none. Our stay here was a magical and unforgettable experience. The Grand Hacienda location has one of the best views in the world. Carolyn and Tom are fantastic hosts, providing spectacular service from the time of booking throughout the entire stay. It was a pleasure getting to know both of them. I will certainly be back. I give it my highest recommendation, a stay at the Grand Hacienda is a truly unique and amazing luxury experience.

All the superlative reviews you read about Grand Hacienda are true and richly deserved. Its location is magnificent, overlooking Abiquiu Lake with 360 degree views of the richly but subtly coloured surrounding mountains. As you enter the large courtyard, you will feel a wonderful sense of peace, tranquility and luxury. As you look around, you’ll appreciate the quality of materials and the great care and attention with which Carolyn & Tom have created GH. Our room was beautifully appointed. Lovely views, well furnished, luxurious bathroom and a lovely patio where we spent time just relaxing, reading and gazing at the views. The day begins with a wonderful cooked breakfast. Tom and Carolyn use many ingredients to grown on their greenhouse. “Breakfast” doesn’t do justice to the soufflés and other dishes they deliver. We also ate excellent dinners every night too. Yum. We loved just spending time on the magnificent patio which opens out from the Great Room, sipping a glass of wine - GH has a very good wine list- appreciating the views and the silence of the mountains. We also used the Hot Tub twice at night. Magic. I am a long-standing yoga practitioner. Practising yoga early each morning of our 4 night stay on the large patio was quite simply the best place I have ever practised. But above and beyond all the beauty of GH, its environment and the fabulous food, is the care, attention to detail and the love which Carolyn & Tom inject into the experience to make your stay so memorable. Nothing is too much trouble. We also met some lovely fellow guests during our stay and it was obvious that they felt the same. If you can tear yourself alway from GH, there are many great places to visit. We spent a memorable day doing a walking tour ‘In the footsteps of Georgia O’Keeffe’ at Ghost Ranch Inn (Friday mornings only), followed by a fascinating visit to her nearby studio on Abiquiu. Our stay at The Grand Hacienda was nothing short of amazing! The adventure starts right when you book your stay and you get the directions to your private oasis off of the beaten path. Just finding it was a blast. The hosts Carolyn and Tom are both amazing, and have spared no attention to detail at their bed and breakfast. They are great people to talk to, and they are more than accommodating. My wife and I went there for our ten year anniversary, and we plan on going back in the future. We took full advantage of all there is to do and see during our visit. We did horse back riding through Ghost Ranch, which was educational, and overall entertaining. We rented kayaks to spend a day on the secluded lake with incredible views in every direction. We sat in the hot tub with glasses of wine, and looked at all of the beautiful landscapes as far as the eye can see. The food was incredible! I cannot stress this enough. All fresh ingredients prepared daily. Also I highly recommend you ask the hosts for recommendations on hikes. They gave us one that showed us views unlike anything else that we have ever seen, and we are well travelled. My only regret is that we didn’t have more days and nights booked. We will not make the same mistake next time.

This was a truly an amazing stay at Grand Hacienda. We felt instantly welcomed by Carolyn and Tom and were in awe of the amazing vistas. The remote roads we travelled to reach this oasis just built the anticipation to the breathtaking views. Breakfasts were off the charts. Be sure to sign up for the dinners as they would rival any major restaurant in the Santa Fe area. You could see the care and pride that Tom and Carolyn invest in every detail. It has been the true highlight of our New Mexico experience. We ended up extending our stay because it was just that darn good.
