Had not been in a while, and wonder why that's the case. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend the turkey, the hash brown casserole, and especially the peach cobbler. Tastes just like what my grandmother used to make. Generous portions and all so tasty!

Great bar.b.q! Tender & delicious. A good variety of wonderful & tasty sides as well as desserts. The peach cobbler and key lime pie are addicting 😍 They had live music at the perfect volume that made for a delightful ambiance. Staff was friendly and very welcoming. Establishment was clean with plenty of sitting available & a good flow to everything. We had a lot of food for the price. I recommend you give this place a try for a fun, filling & casual meal. We will certainly be back.

The best barbecue in an hour radius. Brisket is good and the bark isn’t bad. The sides are much better than most barbecue places. Tator tot casserole and spicy creamed corn are worth trying. Half chicken and turkey are options for anyone that doesn’t eat red meat. There are fun throw-back Rock and Metal Opie’s t shirts. On the Sunday that we dropped by, a man was playing guitar and singing Johnny Cash and classic Country. Definitely worth stopping when in the area.

Passed by Opies BBQ after spending a few hours at Krause Springs and opening up quite the appetite. You immediately get into a line to make your meat selections where they cut, plate, weigh and wrap everything up for you. We got a half rack of baby back ribs, jalapeño cheese sausage, pork loin, and the highly recommended tater tot casserole. The ribs were tender & tasty, the sausage flavorful, the pork loin was good but a bit dry, and the tater tot casserole was the absolute highlight of our meal. It is 100% worth all the rave. I will purposely drive out of my way to come back for an extra large serving of that delicious casserole. They have a self-service station where you can help yourself to bread, beans, pickles, jalapeños, sauces, etc. The beans were quite tasty! We didn't try any desserts on this visit but certainly will whenever we come back. The restaurant is a bit pricey but we left satisfied and it was the perfect meal to balance out our day in the sun at the springs. The atmosphere here is very laid back and relaxed - Definitely has that cute small town vibe. Overall, Opies is definitely worth a visit especially for the casserole!

It's all carte
Mask required. Indoor dining available. Social distancing is followed.
Yes...really good mac n cheese when we ate there
Not really. There is a picnic table outside by a tree. Not sure if it is Opie's though. You could take your order down the street at that intersection to a park in Spicewood called Krause Springs. The prices depend on what you get. By the pound or just enough for a sausage and brisket sandwich. Get the fatty stuff. Unless you like the dry lean meat.
Id give them a call to ask.
