Honestly I only went there for the food! One day of nonstop eating food and junk haha. Great times. Oh and the beer too. Can't forget that 32 degree beer right. Only thing I wish everybody would come down on their pricing haha. Far too expensive still. 🤷♂️ Probably why I haven't been there in like 6 years so I thought I would give it a try again... I just feel like it's the same old stuff over and over again every year besides maybe some new foods.. But don't get me wrong, this is not a bad review I had a great time! And love the food and drinks. Thanks for the experience.

Yes, there is a campground. They have electric, water and sewer at every site
It really depends on the time you get the tickets and what all you do there. I only go one day a year and I volunteer for 3 hours at a group. I'm involved in. Doing that I'm able to get free parking and two free admission tickets so you can always find creative ways to get into the State Fair. And I always find the volunteer work fun. Anyhow, just something to think about.
No food truck just vendors that are a staple of the fair
Check the Iowa State Fair web site. They do offer special packets . My daughter always gets her from there. She orders it online pays for it online and then you can pick up your packet at the fair grounds.

Not a flea market. There is a car parts swap meet and a small craft show.
Here's what I found. Adults 12 and over. 12 dollars. Kids aged 6 to 11. 6 dollars and children 5 and under are free

You have to have State Fair ticket to enter in whether or not you see any of the rest of it or not.
I think it's very affordable but I don't know this based off facts. This is me observing the culture of the booth renters
