Really cool to see a Golden Eagle and a pair of Bald Eagles. Also, I commend them on the eagles and taking them in due to being injured and unable to return to the wild. Other than that, it was cool to see a wolverine (hey bub), wolves, etc.

Zoo Montana is a gem in our city of Billings. Although it may not have the exotic collections of big city zoos, it is a wonderful place to stroll and enjoy nature. It has well designed, attractive natural habitats for the animals, and you can usually see them up close-up if it’s not too hot out. Tigers, bears, red panda, otters, wolves, and other animals with beautiful nature trails and playgrounds for the kids. We and our grandkids never get tired of it.

Small zoo but cute. Get through it in a couple hours, if you take your time.. Went on a rainy day and all the animals were pretty active. Red pandas were playing and chasing each other which was a wonderful sight compared to them sleeping all day.

I was visiting Billings for my vacation and saw that they had a zoo. Definitely was impressed especially coming from a big city with the zoo I'm used to going. This zoo here at Billings was awesome from top to bottom. It is a little small but the grounds are super clean, animal areas are kept up, awesome selection of animals to see and a very friendly staff. Highly recommend checking this out if you're in the area.

The majority of our animals are rescues. However, we can’t home them all like we wish we could do, so we have an excellent network of folks that help us re-home animals into better situations. This can number into the hundreds each year. We also help rescue injured raptors, usually about 50/year.
Typically the only time animals come out would be some kind of show or educational event. Zoo animals aren't pets and allowing the public to handle them may cause unnecessary stress for the animal. You could however offer volunteer services and express the animals your most fond of.

Yes, there is RV parking. If the parking lot gets too full, there is always more parking across the street in Pierce field.
Yes
It really varies every year. Last year it was winter coat temperatures. Sometimes the weather in October only requires a light coat, so it's just hard to predict.
