Crape Myrtles are very hardy trees and they can be planted any time of the year with a high survival rate. The key to success for any type of tree is to ensure the proper soil moisture level is being maintained after each watering and we will see lots of new growth and blooms as a result. Make sure to visit our website which will provide more information about how to complete the soil moisture tests and what soil consistency to look for between each watering.
I have never seen any issues with Shantung maples and they are currently listed on the Texas Superstar list for durability. Unfortunately, Treeland does not sell them. I have two and they have excelled in my clay soil with frequent watering.
Thank you for your question Betty. If you are planting a container grown tree, then you are able to plant all year round. It's balled n burlapped trees which have seasonal planting times since a lot the roots are damaged during the digging process. We sell container grown trees here, and they can be planted at any time. For year round success we also provide our customers a seasonal watering guide to follow. It's all about watering, so make sure to wait and plant after any big Summer vacations as well.
