Hi Mary, Wow - I love that you still have them! Go-Lites were the best!!! but alas, no longer available. To answer your question, this is not the kind of shoe that I personally would put in the washer. If they are a total mess and no good, you could try scrubbing them as best you can in the sink in cool water. Scrub (i would use a brush of some kind) all the mud off the soles first - taking care not to let the muddy water run all over the uppers. Once all the surface mud/dirt is removed, use a scrubby kind of cloth using cool water to clean the uppers. Once youve gotten them as clean as you can, take the insoles and laces out and allow them to air dry. Not in direct sunlight. I hope this helps....Kay
