Have called at least 4 times to the Effingham office, but have been disconnected and told that I need to call again later. I need to have an in-person appointment to change my name and am unable to do so online!

Just got off the the phone with a rather rude woman. She seemed extremely disgusted in my call and was very short and kept interrupting me. Unreal

No appointment is required. Simply visit the office during business hours.
I am on ssd my ex- husband of 19 yrs passed away before I started receiving my benefits I should of received survivor benefits since I was over 55 yrs old and on disabilty somehow it wasnt processed I had to reapply been waiting over 5 months ?

Visit the office and bring all of your paperwork. Including his death certificate, your marriage certificate and both of y'all's ss numbers.
I recommend you ask the social security office if a face to face interview is your preference. Otherwise, you can start your application online. Socialsecurity.gov. the wait time depends on your Internet.
Go online and do it if you want you can go to the office or if you don't Know what the web site is call the office thay will give it to you or Google should know it
