If you want to die soon, go here, otherwise, go somewhere you can actually get some help from someone before it's too late. This place doesn't know the meaning of "follow up". You will show up for appointments to be told they were never scheduled; you will be counted as a no-show for appointments that were never scheduled. I have seen some bad front desk staff in my 50 years, but this place is the absolute worst. And they think mental health can be scheduled. It cannot. But as long as you can schedule your mental illness, can wait weeks and months for appointments and meds, AND you don't mind getting screwed over time and again, this is the place for you!

I have had to reschedule with Emmanuel the psychiatrist for different times the first time was my mistake I called and rescheduled the person who rescheduled me double booked a manual so the day came that I was supposed to make that appointment and they called me and rescheduled it again another month and a half out at that point I had forgotten so the next day I got a call that I missed my appointment so I told Starting Point to set another appointment this time they said it for a check in not an evaluation I’m doing this for my own mental health but also to satisfy probation. I do not feel like Starting Point at this point is helping me the way that I need them to even though I’ve done as much as I possibly can to be a part of my recovery. I’m supposed to see my therapist every other week and I understand they are understaffed and overbooked however I am a recovering addict with severe mental health issues and the last time I seen her was the first week of December and I won’t see her again until mid January. I have called multiple times telling them I need to speak to a supervisor I need to speak to a therapist and their response is we are in open admission you’re gonna have to hold on and then I held for a total of 30 minutes. I asked to speak to a therapist which means I’m having issues if you work in a mental health place you should understand that this is so unacceptable and very disappointing

I started going to starting point about 3 years ago for my depression and anxiety. I was a literal mess. I can still remember my first appointment with my doctor crying because I wasn't the person that I once was. Depression had taken so much from me at that point I felt like giving up but my doctor assured me that there was still hope in all that darkness and she was right. It's been a long journey but starting point has been by my side the whole way. I can't say enough good things about the people here. They actually care about you and will fight for you, especially when you don't have it in you to fight for yourself. I can honestly say I probably wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for them. Thank you starting point for never giving up.

I had nothing but great treatment at Starting Point. I actually think the treatment became even better after COVID with Telehealth. But I always had great care, and people who really wanted to help and not judge. They understood that wanting to seek treatment is half the battle. They understood how important their actions are, and that a bad experience could cause someone to relapse. When I had one issue with a staff member, the head of the department called me right away to apologize. A lot of places do not respect their patients with addiction disorders, but this place does.

Tried to call. They put me on hold for ever. It was a serious call. What a let down

What if addictions aren't the problem, just severe depression and anxiety? Do they only take those affected by addiction?

Not just addictions. They absolutely treat for depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.

Do they prescribe xanax for anxiety

It depends on the circumstances, but generally try not to prescribe habit forming medications on a long-term basis. That said, each individual is treated based on their specific situation.
