The fishing pier is very busy so I suggest going earlier in the day to get a decent spot. Beautiful views from there tho. When I go I usually spend the day and grab a seat under the pier for maximum shade so we don't have to fight for a spot to put our umbrella. Beach rescue (police officers) are there & active also life guard on duty. Decent waves to ride also. For the Atlantic Ocean it's a beautiful spot.

What can I say my hometown beach is the best. What a transformation….it makes my heart happy. Way to go City of Jacksonville Beach! ❤️
Does anyone find the fluctuating hours particularly disturbing? They seem to clise anytune they want to regardless of the posted times. Its aggravating!
It is closed, and has been closed a couple of years. They have lots of heavy contructipn equipment all around that area. You can still enjoy the beach and park in the parking area next to the Pier
Why does Google list this pier as open when it has been closed for many years. It is disappointing to many that make the trip here to walk/fish on the pier only to find it CLOSED FOR REBUILDING. #JacksonvilleBeach #jaxbeach #pier #beaches2

I DON'T KNOW WHY.
IT IS CLOSED AND PROBABLY WON'T BE OPEN UNTIL 2024 😕
THE WAY THINGS SEAM. IT HAS MORE POLITICAL ROAD BLOCKS THAN ACTUAL LABOR 🙃
Not sure but how long it will be out for but I was just there a few days ago and it seems like it will be atleast a couple of more months of work still.
What are the rules for keeping the fish you catch? Any number limits? Any size limits? where do I find such information per type of fish? Or ii it catch and release for all fish, including sharks?

There are size laws in place which I believe are standard, haven't heard of any limits. Florida gaming and fishing I believe should have that information posted if not the pier definitely has that info handy. Hope that helps 😊
You will be licensed for pier fishing when you pay the 3 dollar fee. If you want an out of state fishing license from shore you need to go by Walmart to buy a license. The pier does have a few poles you can rent as of a couple weeks ago.
When I asked the person at the front desk of the hotel i stayed in she really didn't know but someone at one of the establishments staff it may have to be rebuilt, so maybe in the next two years.
The bite is a little slow but will pick up very soon. Still lots of trout, red drum, sheepshead, whiting being caught. The pier is also closed but you can still fish the beach and under bridges and creeks.
