The park is well shaded and many of the trees already have a swinging rope attached. This was a perfect place to swim and relax.

This is a nice park in the city of Kerrville on a beautiful stretch of the Guadalupe River where a lot of locals enjoy picnicking, swimming, the playground, walking trails, and an area that is a designated off leash dog park. There is also good space to fly kites. There are no bathrooms, but there is a porta-potty near the entrance.

You are allowed to fish anywhere in the park, as long as you have a license. They have 1 concrete boat ramp, that is easily accessible, and several other places that you can launch smaller boats from, if you are interested. Several people fish, swim, and even picnic there, the general rule of politeness applies to make for a smother, more enjoyable time.

NO, there are no camping facilities at flat rock park. They lock it up overnight. Overnight Camping Kerrville Schreiner Park on Hwy 173 does & it's very close to Flat Rock Park
