Took my mother in law on a drive and ended our adventure at the Miners memorial park where the big Muskie bucket resides. I like to come here on occasion as my grandfather worked as an electrician with the muskie. He is in the photo of employees and his name is on the wall.

It's very interesting and a neat piece of history.

The road leading up to the park is fabulous - it demands attention even when the beautiful fall colors along the way demand a glance away from the road ... The bucket feels solid even after so many years and the chain around it is so hefty! Steps lead you inside the bucket and you can experience the size when you walk in. Couple of things to remember - there are minimal facilities at the site - a shed and table for a standing lunch perhaps, and a porta potty like restroom for men/women separately but no running water, no sanitizer, nothing. There is a gazebo that can shed you from rains, for instance, which is better executed than the facilities that seem like so 20th century. Parking spots are limited to less than 10 - this can become a problem some times. I rode there on my motorbike and OH 37 being in the vicinity of the Triple Nickel does not disappoint. Fun ride, good break at the bucket but again, if you're thirsting for coffee, you better carry your own! Deducted a star because the facilities are not up to scratch.

You need to go on the aep recreation lands website and print out a permit to hike there.
Was there in August and the signage was very poor.
There isn't a gift shop, but if you're in the area I would try the Morgan county chamber of commerce in McConnelsvile
