We came to Copper Mountain and Winter Park for our first snowboarding trip. Both were great. I like to compare the two because they each have their own perks. CM is much nicer than WP as far as facilities and buses go. Everything was a lot cleaner at CM. Neither one was overly crowded with no wait for the lifts. We took a class at CM for beginners and it was very helpful for our basics but we would have liked to be able to navigate down a slope which we still struggled with the next day. CM had an amazing terrain park with a half pipe that my husband was in awe of. It was fun to watch the snowboarders doing tricks. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our instructor Chase was so nice and really worked hard to help us and I’m sure it was not easy. I would recommend WP for first timers because I think there are more areas suited for beginners. I will definitely be back to CM though once I can get down a slope because I loved how clean and nice it was.

Always love my time at Copper Mountain! They have such a wide variety of terrain it's great for families or friend groups with varying levels! You can get challenged in the back bowl or you can cruise some groomers depending on your mood. Copper probably has some of the best groomed, wide trails that I've experienced.

Too many slow lifts for the price. Back bowls are definitely condition dependent. Only ikon pass place in the area so it gets crowded.

Great ski resort for those who actually come skiing in the mountains and not showing off in expensive furs staying in $2k+ rooms per night like in a couple of other nearby places :) Reasonably priced lodging, helpful and polite resort personnel, wisely planned slopes and lifts. Would definitely come again next year!

There's a little roller coaster that goes through the trees on the mountain. Other than that, I believe the village area is just made up of normal shops and restaurants. It's not far from the town, though, where you can find traditional entertainment.
