A beautiful hike, mostly covered by trees, but with moments of sweeping views. Our 3 year old walked most of the way. There is a beautiful pond just before the lake that is covered in lily pads, keep going for the actual lake.

Clean trail and really easy to hike! Probably better in the Spring, but it's still so pretty to see all the colors in the fall!

The meadow creek trail was great. I had taken other trails to the Lily Ponds but this was my favorite. It was clear of fallen trees and was not too rocky. As for bird life this was fairly good. Nesting Warbling Vireos were very vocal in the Aspens. This trail offered more tree growth and less dead pines than the other routes to the pond/lakes. Highly recommend this trail if you are looking for a moderate hike to see the lily pads.

This is a nice hike with beautiful scenery but is mostly uphill and also does not loop around so you have to return the same way you came when heading to Lily Pad Lake. It is Very Beautiful at the top but is likely not a great choice for families with little children as it will be slow going and some of the trail has some rocky, sometimes muddy, and somewhat treacherous areas despite being seemingly well maintained. It is fun and totally worthwhile if you are in the mood for a bit of hike and a fairly high increase in elevation and altitude. Enjoy your hike but be careful with some areas of this trail, the final view and "Lake" is worth the effort!
