I have been a huge fan of Katzinger’s for many years, and I’m not sure if something has changed with management but the service has gotten really bad. I’ve tried placing pick up orders over the phone three times in the last week, and they have literally not answered the phone a single time (and I called multiple times to try and place an order). It’s frustrating to not be able to place an order and to not be able to get ahold of someone at all.

A Columbus original, this deli has greatly suffered under new ownership the last few years. The food is still excellent, especially the Reubens, but the gourmet breads, olive oils, chocolates etc are almost completely gone. Currently there is no indoor seating, COVID issue?, but masks not required so...? They do still offer an assortment of quality cheeses. Help yourself to the pickle barrels, the fat ones are ripe.

A great deli with a very large variety of big extremely well filled sandwiches.

UPDATED: From the minute you walk in the door to the second you finish eating it’s a trip to the finest New York City Deli but in Columbus, OH. I’ll add even better than what I’ve had in New York Or for that matter anywhere. It’s that good. It’s so good that before COVID I was having it delivered to our home in Louisville KY. Sadly now it appears they don’t deliver. So anytime I find myself or anyone else I can convince passing through Columbus, I get my fix there and then a whole lot more to enjoy later back home in Kentucky. Even the way they uniquely package the meats keeps it fresh much longer. Everything from the corned beef, pastrami, chopped liver, rye bread. potato latkes and more so delicious with excellent service to match. A true Jewish Deli Jewel hidden away in Ohio, very easy to find and get to, just off the interstate in Columbus Ohio.
