A place to tent camp and get a shower for $10! Almost all campers are seasonal RVs. I am guessing mostly from the Fargo area who come on weekends. I was there on a week day and was the only one in the place Communication was great in advance and check in very thorough, including the suggestion I leave my food in the laundry room (occasional bears). I didn't get the tip on the resort beach. I saw signs pointing, but the beach appeared occupied by a festive family with a lake front home. I didn't want to crash the party, so missed my lakeside sunset. I was warned that lawn mowing began at 8AM and had planned an early departure.

I am 52 years old and my son is 7. I don't smoke or drink. My son and I regularly picked up garbage around the playground area, put all the toys away at the lake beach area left by everyones children, and returned life jackets to their area if wind had blown them away. We were just trying to be decent people and help out if we could. It was the most horrible experience spending the summer there. People regularly get accused of things they didn't do, and when Sheila is proven wrong on her accusations after going through my, my girlfriends, and my mothers phones she offers no apology. We spent our time there nervous every time we heard a four wheeler coming thinking we were going to get in trouble for something. Multiple people get kicked out often, about 9 seasonal campers either left or were kicked out this year. After people left similar reviews to mine on Tamaracs Facebook page, all the reviews disappeared.

Quiet and secluded on a very nice lake. Long-term owners clearly cherish this place and put a lot of effort into it's upkeep. Newly built cabins and lodge are spacious and cozy easily accommodating a wide variety of needs. Easy drive to Detroit Lakes for supplies but they sell the basics at the camp lodge too. Glad that this is the place that was chosen for our yearly getaways.

This is my second review as had written one regarding my families experience a year ago and i see it has been deleted somehow. Obviously these are not true reviews and negative ones are deleted. That being said, this is a beautiful resort but owner makes it impossible to relax and enjoy. With seveal.pages of rules that somehow you break without warning or are accused of things you didn't do this was not a good experience. Just a warning to others...Our new campground owner loves our family and says we are the best renters he has ever had and we love him too!
