Entered, but not advised fort closed at 5pm. Unable to see inside the fort. Different areas to access the water. Good for collecting shells or fishing, NOT swimming.

A great place with historic value to spend a sunny afternoon and it doesn’t hurt that is right next to the beach. If you go early in the morning you’re likely to beat the crowds that accumulate in the afternoon. Entrance is reasonable and the additional admission to the fort is $2.50 per person which is not bad. Any history buffs definitely go or if you’re just a family looking for an easy outing.

Neat place to check out for some history and sightseeing. Can walk around the fort to the beach as well. Small gift shop/snack shop on your way out.
