Amazing home, views, landscapes and hospitality! Directions provided were perfect, tons of firewood and hiking areas. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. The house does sit high on a cliff so there's no direct access to the water, but you can get to it by driving a very short distance. Highly Recommend!!

My stay at ‘The Casita del Lago’ was nothing short of perfect! 5 stars doesn’t even remotely match the incredible experience I had. The views were absolutely spectacular—a bright blue lake contrasted by red rocks and rolling hills were like something in a famous painting... the kind where you think, ‘There’s no way that exists in real life.’ Oh, but it does! The house/bedroom was flawless in every way—the furniture and artwork were BEAUTIFUL and the beds and pillows were so, so comfy! It was like sleeping in the perfect marshmallow! And the shower—it was perfect, to say the absolute least. Carolyn and Tom were incredible—their hospitality goes completely unmatched. Breakfast was DELICIOUS and hot, and was by far the best way to start my morning. Leaving ‘The Casita del Lago’ was like leaving paradise, which means I’ll definitely be back... hopefully sooner rather than later!!! 10/10... wait, 100/10 would recommend!

I've stayed in a few places in Abiquiu, and I will tell you that this is the only place to stay. A beautiful luxury home with everything you will need for a great vacation. Remote, beautiful, amazing views and the lake. We brought our blow-up kayaks and we were the only people on the lake. You can hike down to the water from the house. The house is so well designed and we love the Mexican/New Mexican furnishings and art. This is our "go-to" vacation spot! Thanks, Carolyn and Tom, for opening up your home to us. Tom

From Dave and Ashley: Breathtaking and Absolutely Perfect Left on Sep 16, 2019 for a stay in Sep 2019 What can I say - it was amazing and perfect. We were in town to attend a wedding at Ghost Ranch and I think we had the BEST accommodations of anyone (including the bride/groom, sorry)! The views were SPECTACULAR! Carolyn was a fantastic hostess and incredibly easy to communicate with when we had questions (and was forgiving when we had a little mishap). Also, we were driving from 12 hours away and ended up arriving early, and Carolyn jumped through hoops to make sure everything was ready for us. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Everything was just how it's pictured - perfect for a family of 4 (kids on bunk beds) and in-laws (in the master). We thought the online photos had to be staged/exaggerated... they're not. It's stunningly beautiful. It's the most relaxing, low-key getaway we've ever had (despite busy wedding activities). The pantry was stocked with all the basics you'd need (flour, spices, popcorn, most pantry items) and the fridge had all the condiments you'd need. They also had everything for coffee (including creamer in the fridge). They had DirecTV so we didn't miss any football games and to top everything off, the hot tub under the stars couldn't be beat!

Both our Service Dogs are also Visiting Therapy Dogs but the Covid Pandemic has made that impossible. They travel everywhere with us & love visiting new areas. They are house trained & are very people oriented.
