What a great place! Grounds are open to the public to walk around and enjoy. House tours are available for a fee and give lots of information on the history of the house and things happened daily on the property. Don't miss the house tour! It is money well spent. Very well maintained. Beautiful scenery Small gift shop onsite.

They have upgraded access and opened new walking trails. Easy rolling grades.

The guide that we had on our visit was extraordinary.

A hidden Gem!! Absolutely fabulous!! The folks here have created a fascinating replica of Jefferson’s retreat. Very comprehensive, including wonderful tributes to the enslaved folks that were here. Highly! Highly! Recommend!

When we went it was about $20 each. As far as handicapp access goes, there aren't many stairs. Maybe 4 steps. I would recommend it!
About 20 miles, maybe a little less.
I don't remember seeing a souvenir penny machine, but they have a lot of great inexpensive souvenirs. Along with some expensive ones as well. Great keepsakes of your trip. Enjoy the learning experience of some Jefferson history that not everyone knows.
I dont think so no. Poplar Forest is privately owned i believe so its not apart of the National Parks. But they do have senior tickets available.
Sounds good!
