The staff was professional, efficient and courteous. I was called back to the exam room quickly. Dr. Blauzvern was kind, personable and professional. He actually listened to me fully and provided an excellent explanation of why my back hurt and possible treatments. Then he worked some magic and got me an immediate appointment for a MRI. I know I just got lucky that there was a cancellation at the imaging office but he actually took the time to check for me. He is awesome.

I don't understand why pain management can't diagnose my pain. Only offer pain meds to certain people. Only offered a Toradol shot because I asked for one. Otherwise I'm left to suffer with stomach and back pain.

I went to Capital Pain Institute today, they got me checked in quickly, saw the Dr. He was Awesome… he had answers for my back spasms and pain. I’m looking forward to going back next week to start my process of Healing! Thank you so much!

Questions & Answers

I have appt next week. Am wondering if I am wasting my time & money. Have chronic pain, RA & OA & have taken meds to manage it for 20+ yrs. Not willing to have spinal surgery, etc. Wondering what to expect.

I just recently saw one of the doctors at Capital Pain for the first time. I had been a patient of pain management for 30 years until they merged with capital pain. I sad not impressed. The doctor actually got up and walked out of the exam room in the middle of my appointment and left me with the PA. She was rude, didn't ask me anything about my history and the first thing she told me was I needed some surgery. She hadn't even asked me one question at that time. As I was leaving the office, a patients husband was sitting in the waiting room, searching his phone for another doctor for his wife. He said every person that walked out of the office was very angry at the doctors.

Are patients limited to only 90mmes of opioids a day even if this doesn't near take care of all the pain?

Frances Smith | Oct 23, 2020
Capitol Pain Institute - Austin North | Oct 23, 2020

We evaluate all patients individually and try to determine the best plan of therapy for each patient. If we choose to prescribe opioids, we prescribe the lowest dose that will provide adequate relief at an acceptable level of risk. That dose may be above 90MME for some patients, but that is usually not necessary.

Don't see why. Unless you failed a drug test, and would'nt give you anymore product. You have choice to go where you want to go for pain relief

I was robbed of my pain medicine this weekend,I called my Dr. and she said she could give me something for withdrawlls, but no more pain medicine.Im hurting pretty bad,and would like to know what to do?

I think that in order to get stolen meds replaced, you have to call the police and make a report. Ask for a copy, take to pharmacy. If they won't replace them, do the same thing with the doctor. I'm sorry you were hurting, it can be such an ugly world...
