I have been going to Avis for years and rent monthly. There has never been an issue until I moved to Bedford and had to start using the new location. Since the change I have had nothing good to say. The counter help is rude and blames the customer for any problems on check out. I will be going back to Avis at the Norwood airport where the customer service is outstanding. If I could give the Bedford location a zero I would for sure.

Absolutely terrible location. Was sent here for a rental to wait for a different rental company employee to tell me that Avis was closed today (that he hadn't seen anyone there at all that day). I tried calling "Joe" who had a post-it note with "rentals please call" number but no answer. After 30 minutes, I called Avis back who said they called the owner and that someone would be there in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later there was still no one there, so I called Avis back again to be sent to a different Avis location. Absolutely terrible location and terribly run business. Below are pictures of the EMPTY service desk to prove my point.

My car breaks down. I reserve a car online, woke up the next morning and am told that they didn't actually have a car for me. Fine, clerical errors happen. I ask them if they will be refunding me the $374. They tell me I need to take it up with customer service. It was their computer system that screwed up, I would have gotten the keys off of them, drove the car off of their lot, and they were the ones receiving my money. But hey, refunds are not their responsibility. So I call customer service. I get told that I need to wait for a supervisor to arrive to make the return. Call back later. I do. They proceed to drop my call. Twice. I FINALLY get ahold of a manager and get my refund. Or I WILL get my refund (for the car I never even got!) In 3-5 days. Hey, at least that is more the credit cards fault. So now I've got no way to drive to work tomorrow and I'm out $374, which means I can't afford to go elsewhere. I would like to note that I worked retail for years, and was therefore very careful to not be rude or take out my anger on the customer service, so I have no clue why I was given this treatment Anyway, thanks Avis.

In Boston, Logan airport location is open 24/7 but the following locations have a key drop box that you use to drop in your contract and keys to your rental. MIT, Aquarium, and Havard square. The other locations (Government center, Claradon St. and Allston) do not have drop boxes. Hope this helps.
