10/2021 Update - We are very close to a "closed envelope" and so far extremely happy with the experience building this ourselves. We bit off a quite a bit more than we could chew, but with a lot of local help, and regular calls to Conestoga's excellent technical support team, we got it done. Big thanks to Eric for all of those calls, as well as the rest of the team! 02/2021 - Off to a fantastic start! We just submitted our building package and thus far, Conestoga has been amazing! They have gone above and beyond in helping us get our permitting package submitted before the new round of code changes took effect, and are working hard to help us build this summer despite the challenges the pandemic is throwing at us. Our family found out about Conestoga when we stayed in one of their cabins which is an AirBNB in Leavenworth, WA. We loved it there! That started us thinking about building our own cabin, and literally doing as much of it ourselves as we can. I'll be honest, I gave a very hard look at some of the European systems selling into the US market. The European systems fell flat for us when we realized two very important details. First, they aren't committing to get you through the permitting process. In some areas with more relaxed building codes that may be acceptable risk. However, I would have had to pay professionals to evaluate their systems and the manufacturer may or may not be able/willing to implement the required upgrades. I was looking at putting out thousands of dollars that I might not get back. Conestoga committed to any necessary revisions required by our County to permit. Second, while the foreign window systems are great, they are not certified using US standards. They won't meet any energy code here. Lastly, while they were friendly people, they just were not able to provide the level of customer service Conestoga has. I'm managing the whole process, and this is my first rodeo. Conestoga has been patient with my questions and generous with advice. I really couldn't ask for more. I'll update this review once we have it built!

Pathetic directions for beds. Conestoga reached out and followed up with photos, albeit still not great. Really responsive customer service. Everything on the beds is 2x4’s glued together. We got pictorial instructions, but still no measurements. Room for improvement. 2.5 stars. The right person could build something much better.
