I'm licensed Amateur Radio operator and also familiar with Abest. Abest will NOT program for you a radio capable of communicating with Chaveirim of Rockland or any other organization or business until and unless you are authorized member and can prove it! Additionally, with the latest digital radio technology, you can't even listen to these broadcasts on professional grade Scanners. This is THE future! As you may know Hatzolah of Rockland switched to digital encryption and the rest of Hatzolah is going to make the switch in the next year or two, and, I'm sure you know, you can't monitor Shomrim/Shmira for quite some time. As an icing on the cake, NYPD is implementing full encryption in the near future too, so, bye bye monitoring police... (This is direct result of BLM/Antifa abusing and jamming of NYPD's frequencies during mostly "peaceful" protests in 2020. So basically and sadly, end of an era. Join Chaveirim and get your radio, lol
