This place doesn't look like much when you pull up. You need to go through an opening and navigate yourself based on the map. The trails are not marked well at all so be very mindful of the direction you're going so you don't get lost. Also pay attention to your surroundings as you are out there surrounded by a vast open area filled with wildlife. Bring water for yourself and your dog . I would recommend at least 2 people in your party as there is safety in numbers. Being outside and enjoying the beauty of the Florida parks system is great just be safe. Happy hiking !!!

No one out here, currently on April 9th, 2021 it is dry out on the trails, no mud. Trails are good. Looks like the State is doing invasive plant control, there's a lot of dead trees and bushes.

Muddy, good for the animals. Big pond with lots of birds. Hundreds of ducks but they flew off immediately before we reached pond.

Visit today to ride thru the preserve, as per the website there are biking trails... Mountain biking, as it's rough terrain, so not for my touring bike... Swampy conditions after all the rain here in SW Florida, so be prepared with boots, bug spray, and of course, your camera... Beautiful looking preserve, looks like an adventure worth taking...

No cost. Just park and go explore. It is wet back there right now compared to the previous years around this time of year.

Where do you park? Is there a parking lot or just park in the culdasac at the end of Winkler Rd?

It's a cul-de-sac with just grass and dirt. You just pull off the side of the road. I'm sure it's still awfully wet in there. Muddy down every path
