This is a nice Georgia State Park. It has several easy walking trails for all ages and the sites are spaced great and are well maintained. There is a playground, putt putt, and other activities to do here as well. The view of the river is amazing. You are close to everything St. Mary's has to offer.

Very nice facilities for camping. Wishing I would have known they have full hookup spots when I reserved. Everything is clean, they do have fireants here...and a great place to take sunset pictures.

Needed a place to stay in between campgrounds and saw the sign for this park on I-95 and on a whim came here and literally got the last spot for the night. Sure wish I had known about this park months ago, I would have made reservations and stayed at least a week, what a beautiful place! And the campsites are so ample and spaced very nicely apart. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I could have done without the big bright light right across from me, I hate light pollution, I want to be able to see the stars at night, and here they were spectacular!

Beautiful well-kept Park that's peaceful and easy to get around. Flat hiking areas call my son along the river. Cabins are updated and very nice. Campground is well-kept under big beautiful Live Oak Tree canopy. Office staff is helpful.

When we were there in September last there was a crew adding sewer hookups to about half the sites. Not sure if plans were to do the other half immediately or later. If you make reservation, site specs will show sewer or not.
On the beach via the River Trail.
Actually Cumberland Island is very close as well as Fort Clinch plenty of beaches in Fernandina.
There's WiFi at the office. If you have a long range directional antenna set up
Drive through? Sure, but a parking pass is only $5 unless you have a state park annual pass. You can check out a Georgia State park pass at Pines libraries.
No. You need a park pass. You can purchase at the park office. We have a yearly good at all the parks. It's a nice park you will enjoy your visit.
I would say so. The three room cabin we stayed in, had a utility basket (extra towels etc) for pets.
Only specific ones, I believe there are 3 total that allow dogs. There is a pet fee of $50 per dog.
They had a 30 and 50 amp hook up for rvs. They also have a 20 amp for a outlet in the box
There are some charges at Georgia State Parks. I have an annual pass. Know there is sometimes discount for Veterans. They have a telephone and will answer your questions.
Uber. There is no shuttle.
No pool, no beach when low tide eslk on small sandbar
Yes. You can call to reserve or do it online. Gastateparks.org or Reserveamerica.com to start and the reservation will actually go through Reserveamerica.com. This is an excellent park. Buy and use Picaridin-based insect repellent to make your stay more enjoyable. Picaridin is much better than DEET at repelling biting midges (noseeums) and flys.
It is never a good idea to bring your own firewood. This is a preservation area. Why would you consider bringing pets in that could destroy those resources just to save a few dollars.
noon. and checkout noon as well, even is thr website says 1pm.
Yes. Prices are low. Be sure to put on bug repellent if you go kayaking.
I believe 42 a night we get senior discount and other discounts so can't state for sure. Posted check website good advise.
Popular for its big fish. It's quite easy to catch one in such as busy river!
They have a light selection, but the area is full of small shops. Especially St. Mary's waterfront.
You need to go on the GA state park website to apply
Yes
Crooked River is a beautiful park. Look into going to Cumberland Island National Seashore, out of St. Marys. Great trip.
The store manger is a fish guide, you can rent his services.
Contact the office. Each staye park seems to differ a little.
I hope it does, you will have a great time at any price.
Not a stupid question at all. Our senior reunion group has used three Georgia state resort-type parks and one or two in other states that serve all meals. We're "shopping" for a 2019 reunion site in the Brunswick area, and we prefer parks settings to motels. That's why I had an interest in Crooked River and in this question/answer.
Directly connects with the Atlantic around islands and has tides which should be used for Kayaking and similar usage. Sea water at high tide less so at low tide or times of heavy rains.
