This is on Cumberland Island in Georgia. Took a ferry there. There are VERY primitive amenities on the Island. Nationa Park Ranger makes you aware of what to bring before you board the ferry.

If you're looking for a very clean, peaceful beach this is the one. No crowds! Just take the ferry from St. Mary to Cumberland Island (45 min). Then walk a little over a mile over to the beach. Paradise!!

A long, long walk along the vast beach and dunes, where I saw no human being for 5 hours.

Bring your tennis shoes! I made a HUGE mistake coming in flip flops. It is beautiful on the island and there was so many wild horses! Gorgeous!

No. The island is only accessible by boat. No automobiles.
The National Park fee is $7. If you boat or kayak over to Dungeness Beach that's the only fee you have to pay. There's a brown pipe to out the fee into at the public docks. If you take the ferry, you have to pay the passenger fare as well.
