This zoo cares about their animals and is a great example of how you should run a “zoo”. I would call this a sanctuary more than anything!

This sanctuary is awesome. It is very clean, and the animals are well taken care of, which is done solely by the owner and a few volunteers. Tours are with the owner who is very knowledgeable and informative about the animals. The sanctuary offers encounters some of the animals. So you can interact and touch the animals, which people normally would never have an opportunity to do.  Not to say there aren't strict rules. You cannot roam the sanctuary alone.  Appointments must be made with the owner to enter the grounds to start the tour, this is to ensure the safety of all the animals and the guests. You can tell this is a labor of love for the owner.  The sanctuary is totally funded by the owner and donations. I would highly recommend taking a tour.
