Visiting the lighthouse furthest east on the United States eastern seaboard was a delight, even if the most intense fog rolled in to spoil my pics of it. The bizarre, yet most interesting, things about it are that you can literally AirBNB here and it costs money to tour it. While no park rangers were around, much of the trek back didn't seem to bad. Lots of windy roads and scenic desolation to get there, but once there, the scene is beautiful. Tranquility as a place. There was a family there staying and I think we kind of scared them a little, as they rushed to get into the house while we were approaching. The parking area is dirt and gravel, and the hill down is a subtle grade, but once there, the view could be spectacular. Head out to the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse and discover what I mean! Then head into Lubec for some delightful seafood at the Fisherman's Wharf!

Beautiful place! Words and pictures do NOT do it justice. Visiting this historical place is a must on any travelers list. Great hiking trails as well, waterfalls and streams to see.

This lighthouse is beautiful! There are plenty of hiking trails if you're adventurous, but also a fence to just stand and admire the ocean view too. This lighthouse is on the most eastern point of Maine and worth the drive.

We loved our visit to the Quoddy Head Lighthouse! Not only did we get a chance to see a beautiful lighthouse, but we got to check the Easternmost Point of the CONUS off our list! The grounds of the State Park are beautiful and the trails are definitely worth hiking. Be sure to check out the visitor center and sign the guest book. The only reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5, is bc the lighthouse itself was not open to go up into and will only be open for just one day this year.

You can not go in the lighthouse but all the grounds are open.

It's the easternmost point in the CONTIGUOUS United States. The easternmost point in the United States is at the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, where the state crosses opposite the prime merridian, where east and west measurements meet. Havent been to Quoddy just clearing up confusion.
Yes you can drive almost all the way up to the lighthouse and walk up to and around it. Worth it!
Hi only the little tiny museum/visitor center is closed but the Lighthouse is accessible, that doesn't ever close. You can go anytime, park, picnic, walk around, enjoy the views. It's soooo worth the drive
Technically, yes, but, like Judy said, it's not exactly dog friendly.
There is a suggested donation box. $2-4 per day I believe.
