Normally I would leave nothing but glowing reviews for this place BUT beware, the last time we were at the campground a man having a mental health crises or visibly off his medications as he was talking and yelling at himself and other campers. We found out he had been dropped off by county workers at the campsite and was staying there who knows for how long. A lot of campers left because they didn't feel safe because he was yelling at them and going near their tents with little kids in them. I'm not even sure if this is legal but beware. Hopefully they stop doing this and get that poor man a real place to stay instead of ditching him in a campground with one small bag of food, a sleeping bag and well wishes.

What a great little Campground. Was very clean and well maintained. Felt safe with the on-site staff. Trails from campground to lake were very walkable (albeit a bit of a climb back up) and walk or biking around the lake is a must! We even brought our paddle boards and went out in the lake. Spaces were pretty good size and accessible for small RV / campers. We’ll return.

Great access to Santa Rosa if driving and to Spring Lake and Lake Ilsango if walking or biking. No water, electricity or sewers at the individual sites but water and trailer dump is available in the camp. Showers are 5 minutes for $2 and it takes over a minute for the water to warm up. Bathrooms were cold but clean and well stocked. Generally a ranger greeted us night or day when we drove into the park.

Things to know: 1. This is the MAIN campground for Spring Lake Regional Park, not just the group campground. 2. The campground is small, pretty, well-landscaped, and connected to the rest of the Park trails. 3. Of the 20-odd campsites, four have the tent sites a 20-40 meter walk away. 4. There are two quarter-operated showers. However! If one of the showers has a jammed quarter machine, and the other is occupied by a smoker/cusser/panhandler for over an hour, you are SOL (even if you paid $79/89 for one of the cabins - the Park is understaffed and the ranger will get there when s/he can). 5. There are two deep sinks outside the women’s bathroom with hot water; an alternative to #4 for hair-washing if you don’t mind an audience. Come prepared!
