Rude staff. Especially front desk lady. 3rd highest kill shelter. Don't waste your time here.
Betsy Gervickas
Very helpful and polite.
jaiden roman
if i could give it 0 stars i would. To start off the front desk lady HAS to make everyone miserable. Secondly, they have a closet full of toys for the animals yet none of the dogs have toys in their cages… what a disappointment of a shelter. never will be returning.
Jordan Davis
The front desk lady has to be the one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. I feel bad for anyone who comes into contact with her

We apologize but we cannot accept volunteers under the age of 17. http://www.cherokeega-animals.org/volunteer.html
Closed Sunday and Mondays to the public, but yes.
Is she chipped? Make sure you call the shelter and list her photo on Facebook lost pets. Good luck
Yes. Thank heavens they are a no kill shelter
Yes we do euthanasia as a service. Please see few schedule here: http://www.cherokeega-animals.org/About_Us.html
Please see here about surrendering pets: http://www.cherokeega-animals.org/Surrender.html
Please direct your question to the Cherokee County Marshal’s office, the Animal Control division is responsible for enforcing ordinances.
We apologize that our volunteer program is still suspended at this time. Please check in on our Facebook page or call us for changes to the program. *Normally, the Read to Me Program is only available for our open cat rooms unless a parent competes our regular volunteer training program.
Not at this time. Please see our available pets here: https://www.adoptapet.com/shelter72427-pets.html
If you look up Frida's Companion Animlas Foundation they can help with neuter
Yes, Paul is correct. Please leave them outside the front door (we have a donation bin) and thank you for thinking of us!
Applications for County Positions go through the Human Resources portal at www.cherokeega.com All information and requirements Can be found there as well.
Cherokee County Animal Shelter does not run any TNR programs in Cherokee County.
No! We adopt to out of county, even out of state residents.
Going in through tomorrow (Saturday 11/9/19) and you do not have. To live in Cherokee county to adopt.
I'm waiting on them to call me.
8:00 AM on Tuesday - Saturday
I was told that any resident of Cherokee County was allowed to get free food once a month. Why would you ask anyone who is entitled to it? Perhaps I’m missing the point, J. Proctor, but your response, I’m afraid, gets my back up. No offense meant.
You must be a Cherokee County resident to surrender to Cherokee County Animal Shelter and there is an owner surrender fee. http://www.cherokeega-animals.org/reclaim.html
Please call 770-345-7270 and the extension for the intake department to talk to to a staff member.
Which adoption page are you referring to? Our page on Adopt A Pet (the one shown on our website www.cherokeega-animals.org under the Adopt button) and Petfinder both sync with our database, normally within a few hours.
don’t know age. this shelter will prevent you from adopting in the future if you return the dog. at least that’s what they were told. stupid policy when dealing with an aggressive animal.
We do use and accept them at either our Adoption or Intake building. Thank you for thinking of the animals.
I am sorry to hear that. Have you talked w/the owner? They make anti-barking collars pretty cheaply and they're very humane to the pet. You can pick one up at Home Depot. Anyway to answer your question just call the Cherokee County Animal Shelter. Then follow the prompts from there. They are not open on Mondays. Good luck.
Eileen, We cannot give “vet treatments” to animals after they leave the shelter’s care. You would need to take your cat to a vet clinic or groomer for a nail trim.
Thank you! We just moved here a few months ago and do not know anyone who would take the dog. She needs a person she can be with, ride with, explore with or just sit beside. She doesn't like to be left alone.
Please call the intake department after 10am (678-493-4387)
Sorry i cant answer that one. I would just call to ask. If you are underage they may allow u to volunteer. They always need help walking the dogs and helping with clean up etc
You can take him in for free or call animal control and they will come get him
No, he is not chipped. Has his collar.
Check with the intake people tomorrow. They open at 10 a.m.
Closed at 4. Reopens Tues @ 10. Just call.
please don't put the dogs down
Free adoption weeks are randomly planned events usually. The best time to look is between now and the first of the year. They try to adopt out all of the animals and have free adoption events usually. The best thing to do is to call and speak to someone and ask for exact dates.
Yes. You can take the dog home if you pay the fee.
I have seen a board there with business cards, I believe they would
