Best Mexican food I have had period. The burrito deluxe was two large burritos on one plate. The beef was well seasoned and in some sort of sauce. The chicken was shredded and also in some sort of sauce. Best restaurant I found on John’s island in a week.

Have been coming here since el mercadito opened so many years ago. Food is always excellent, portions more than generous, wait staff has always been courteous friendly and efficient. If you are looking for a great place to eat mexican on Johns Island, this is it.

El Mercadito is that delicious Mexican restaurant you’re always looking for when you get to a new city. From the complimentary chips and salsa to their queso, to everything else on their menu is fantastic and appropriately priced. The service is always fantastic and the food comes out very quick (within 10-15 minutes or so). They are also taking Covid precautions very seriously. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area. I go with my family 1-2 times a week and we never regret it. Do yourself a favor and be a regular at this place. Also, Adriana is particularly wonderful. Love when she’s around.
