It's our county animal shelter. No frills. But the do their best for the animals. The large dog area can be a bit overwhelming... They want human attention and will bark/jump to entice you to pet them.

We had a great experience! Staff in the front was nice, the inmates were nice and very patient with us. We notice they are very nice and caring to all the animals it was greatly appreciated to see. I recommend when you want to see a puppy, try to ask for help and have them put you together with them in a little playing area. The reason I say this is because they bark a bit inside their cages and it can get a little hard to see their playful personalities. We got a pitbull/terrier and she is wonderful and very happy to have a home.

Coweta County Animal Control does not follow the law!! My daughter was viciously attacked by a neighbors dog and the dog was officially ruled vicious by the review board. The Law requires this dog to be restrained and muzzled or locked up at all times. My neighbors let this dog come out on to their driveway outside any fence and unrestrained. Expressly against State Law. Animal Control simply gave them a warning. This is at least the third time these neighbors have flouted authorities and the law. Unbelievable!!! These people are so negligent and dangerous!! Animal Control is an absolute joke. Major Orr is a liar and a coward. He is afraid of my neighbors and I truly believe this is why it was not pursued. How can someone charged with upholding the law be a liar and a coward??

Contact local authorities, depending on if you or the person who is neglecting their dog/cat or other animal, is in the City of Newnan, or in Coweta County. City of Newnan Police Dept. Coweta County Sheriff's Dept, IMMEDIATELY!! Also contact the Coweta County Animal Shelter. I would recommend contacting Local Law Enforcement first & then call the Coweta Animal Shelter. Make follow up calls to both places to see if they have been to inspect the person that is neglecting their pet. Ask when you call them how soon they will be going to investigate, so you will know when to do the follow up call. They should go immediately to investigate.
